I am trying to find assistance for myself. I have progressive MS, i cannot live alone due to the unpredictable and progressive nature of my MS, however at the same time, I can not afford an agency to assist me on a daily basis. Anyone have any suggestions? I currently live in FL, it seems while there are alot of services available to the elderly, there are few if any available for those under 50. I am a FT science teacher in a public school and have to use aides both in and out of the classroom as I am wheelchair bound and have other medical issues that prevent me from living without assistance. FL solution originally was to put me in an assisted living facility, i refused and had my family and friends assist me, but relying to heavily on them can create a burden I am not seeking to create. Does anyone have any suggestions for programs or funding for those of us under the 55 or 60 age in the state of FL?.
