The home is in Elk River, MN. Can I ask for a roll away to be put in my mom's room. The social worker is telling me that the Director of the facility did away w the family visitor rooms.
Please advise.

The only time I could stay at my Mom's long-term-care facility over night was when Mom was on Hospice care and her days were numbered.   I slept on the geri-recliner for a couple of days.

I think the facility doesn't want to be responsible for someone who isn't a patient in case that person falls, etc.   But some facilities will allow a professional caregiver from an Agency to come in overnight.

Also, in some facilities it depends if there is a room-mate in the room.   The room-mate might not be comfortable knowing someone else beside the patient is in the room, plus if there is talking, etc.

Also, if it were a son want to stay in his Mom's room, and there was a room-mate in Mom's room, that wouldn't be allowed. Hospital don't allow that unless the patient is in a private room.   And vise versa.
