My father passed away nearly a month ago. I contacted the POA/will executor and shared a small list of items I was interested in from the contents of my father's apartment, mostly family pictures. I sent the list in writing and spoke to the POA/executor after to make sure she had received the list and it was clear. She said as she went through his apartment, if she had any questions or concerns about items I might be interested in, she would ask me and photograph. I said Ok.
Today I got a link to a file with probably a hundred pictures around his apartment and storage room. The POA/executor had photographed everything - from garbage bags under the sink to laundry detergent in the closet - including any left over food in his cupboard. The simple things I had expressed interest in - family photographs or jewelry - were not photographed. Now the POA/Executor is asking me if I want more pictures of more stuff, as she goes through the storage room.

On the one hand I understand that she needs to cover herself in case I would want to take any legal action in the future (like if I were to say 'Why didn't you show me before you donated it or threw it away').
But on the other hand, there is just tons of pictures of junk, it makes me feel like as also the executor she make up tasks like this (to photograph useless items) then bill the estate for her time.

Impulsively I felt like just wanting to yell to just throw everything out. But I decided to be more pragmatic and see where this all goes. I simply said to continue photographing.

Does this make sense?

POA and executor are two different roles. POA ends upon death. Just FYI

Can you speak with her and be very specific about what you want from your dads apartment and how you feel she could go about doing that?
