Can someone with the Area Agency on Aging do a needs assessment for my Dad (91) who wishes to remain in his home living alone?

We would hope that a professional senior services person could visit with my father, inspect his home and living situation, evaluate his physical and emotional needs, and then offer some referrals or suggestions to assure the best quality life and is safety

MarknMurphy, what is great about this Aging Care website is that it reaches people worldwide. Thus, to get local information for your own area you will need to personally contact the AAA branch in your town.

This is MarknMurphy .... I thought I was asking a question of the AAA staff; I did not understand that I was posting on a public page ... I am VERY frustrated. I tried calling the Albany office and did speak with 3 different people and could not get a simple question answered. They seemed to go to a "script" and began asking names and financial questions .... I repeated several times that I was hoping to get help assessing my father's personal needs and his home .... I kept being told about "programs" and "services" and "application" .... I could not get a simple answer to: "Can someone meet with me and my father at his house to do a needs assessment?" Never a YES or NO ...
