My wife, with Alzheimer's, has reached the point where I simply can't give her the proper care she needs....We have excellent LTC insurance, but what will be best and most comfortable for her....have heard all the horror stories about "she took my jewelry !", etc. with a shared room, but the other side of the question is more human contact and "closeness" might be better for her and less filled with anxiety....does anyone have experience with this and/or know of any research that would be helpful?

Find Care & Housing
Hate to say it, but it depends! If she ends up with a great roommate, it's a blessing. If not, there are constant changes. Is she likely to stay in her room most of the time? Will boredom drive her out of a single room - and into fun activities? If she won't leave the room willingly, she is probably better off with a roommate.

Flip a coin and see what happens? Sorry, I know I'm no help.
