OK, you who know me, know me to be "no nonsense". Something happened today, (that I may or may not ever elaborate on). But, I honestly, may have just seen today, ...an Angel. Like someone snatched her out of a 40 year old black and white photo, in my actual current time path today, that seemed to know what I was thinking, she communicated to me verbally, an odd thought as I approached her. Dead serious. Does anyone think there may be, ... "Angels" amongst us? PM me if you prefer. Gave me chills. (?)

Decades ago I saw what appeared to be a ghost, it was a white haze. Our house was built on land that still had an old manor house that was built back in the 1700's. This ghost like thing was looking out our upstairs windows and looking directly toward the old manor house.

Yup, angels are among us, some even our best friends, in flesh and blood. Dad stayed around a long time after left our world. Sunday, my brother passed, and so far he brought my friend and I together for an unexpected walk with our doggies, and today he made me go for a walk, and I found $20.00... Tonight an owl flew across my backyard...AWESOME....!!!!! Signs are all over... You just need to be open to them.

New2this, yes, I like to think there are angels here on earth. I have no idea what one would look like. Maybe you are more open and receptive to them. Was the angel flesh or was she more illusive than that?

My brother is at peace now, and is laughing and having fun. He is looking down at us, his family, and protecting, I believe. Thank You again brother, You Are My Hero. We will see you again, soon!! Love You.

Thanks for the laugh this morning Captain. What a riot. :-) My Big Sis was quite a fast, wild driver, especially when we were young. She earned the nick name "Crash". :-) Sitting at her funeral listening to Amazing Grace, the line "Through many dangers, tolls and snares I've already come" got me concealing a giggle, 'cause I thought, "That's no lie, ...I was right there in the passenger seat". :-) Have a great day!

OK, here's what happened. I was in a big "Box" store. Had just checked out in an isle about midway of this big place, had stuff in cart. Looked up to think about which entrance on either end I had parked when I saw her. In the flesh. Long black 3/4 length medium weight coat, black scarf on head, nylons, black dress shoes, I bet lots of people have an old black and white photo of their Grandma in the 1960's, early 70's dressed that way. She looked like a combination of my Great Grandma, and my Grandma, in the face, I heard myself think, "Grandma?". Then I heard back in thought, "Yes, Grandma". Of course the place was crowded and lots of noise and bustle, I was in a hurry, I brushed it off as kinda odd. I kept walking closer to the entrance where she was sitting on a bench. About 1/2 the way there, I glanced up and she was looking right at JUST me, still. I smiled to myself and thought of Grandma, her way of telling me good bye was always a hug followed by her saying "God Bless you, honey", in the sweetest tone and with this certain inflection. I'm smiling thinking of that when I am right at the entrance, and the lady. She's staring at me trying to get eye contact. I slowed gave her eye contact, and guess what she said? "God Bless you, honey." In just the very same tone and inflection. I felt the hairs on my forearms stand straight up!

A big old walk out to the car, put stuff in trunk, cart in coral, I plop down in the driver's seat and turn the key. Just when I started to think, "could that have been", the music CD came on and finished the thought, "an Angel, sent here, from above". (Van Morrison, These Dreams of You)

It bugged me off and on all day. I heard a couple of stories 2nd hand about people seeing "Angels", or at least people who appeared to be from a different time period but were there, plain as day, and several people saw them. Wondering what it meant?

When I had a car accident I felt an invisible warm hand cover my heart and give me the thought, "It will be alright."

Another time when I had to present at a conference and was helplessly lost (before the days of GPS), I prayed for help. In minutes a person appeared at the car door window and asked me if he could help me. He brought me right to the place and then disappeared in a flash.

Many times answered prayers and helpers appear in my life. I believe in God and that He is always there for each one of us.

OK juddabuddhaboo, you just totally creeped me out. I had a very wicked disk rupture operated on one year ago August 27. (Keep in mind my BDay is August 28.) I moved out of state and element to help my Sis with Cancer. She died well in advance of what the Dr.s or anyone thought she would. We had this saying, between the two of us, "It will be alright". :-) It was always used in the derogatory sense, like I got up today, dog ate the trash, car wouldn't start, I have the flu, and if I don't show up to work today I will be fired, ...heehee, but, "It will be alright". :-)

OK, so ruptured disk was sooo big, that my MD since I was 8 years old sent me to neurosurgeon, who said if I did not have the surgery to retract it I would lose my lower right quadrant, (use of right leg and bladder). So I had the surgery. I had a long trip home, was instructed to get out at gas station parking lots and walk at every so many hours on trip home.

Was doing just that, when a lady approached me. She knocked on my car door, and said, "I have no idea what is going on in your life, but "someone" is really urging me to tell you, that, "It will be OK". I smiled, knowing who that probably was, and thanked her. She said "No, you just don't understand, "someone is really urging me to tell you that it will be OK". :-) I thanked her again, and she wouldn't even look at me as she drove away in disbelief that she had actually approached me, told me that.

I told a few key family members about that, (DH experienced it 1st hand, saw her, heard her.) So yesterday when I told my Mamma, and DH about the "angel?" at the box store, both brought up the lady on the way home after my surgery as being similar. And, here, you tell me the words she spoke, verbatim. Hmmm. ;-)

Thanks for your input. Wow.

Juddabuddhaboo, No, and you know what, one of the things that I found the most disturbing about the incident yesterday is that it did not seem like anyone else saw her. I was so far away from her when she 1st noticed me, and so many others walked right by her, and she did not talk to them, ...was you incidence similar?

I was so taken in by the spiritual help that I sure didn't look to see if anyone else noticed, nor would I have cared. I have 100% faith and proof enough for me to know that God is here for us in many different ways: angels, relatives that have passed on that still love us, and the strange ways that our needs are met. You could need something and it appears: like the $20 bill in a story here.

Intuition is your connecting rod to God. Tune in and develop your intuition and you can navigate life a bit easier, I think. Have to separate what you want, what Ego wants from what is to be for you. That's hard but start with small things and you'll see that you can tune in to your own intuition. Very helpful.

With caregiving: I think my parents are not long for this earth. Mom went to the doctor and found the narrowing of a major artery. Dad is not in good shape either. Nothing I can do to save them. I must trust that this is the way it is and give the love how I can.

Not easy to love my mother. Can't communicate well with Dad: he's lost his vision and much of his hearing. But love can be felt. Ego junk must be dimmed and the love channel turned on. Even then it can be blocked on the other side!
Just let it travel as it will. Like light, energy, air. There is so much more than what we can "see" with our eyes. I want to "see" more with my heart. No matter obstacles. I am not saying I can easily do this! Much easier to just deal with myself and my intuition concerning myself.

Occasionally I will find a coin (mostly pennies) but sometimes other coins in a shopping center parking lot or in the area of an entrance to drug/grocery stores, etc., and I will pick them up and keep them for good luck, and it always reminds me of a person whom I was very close to and who is now deceased. This person has been deceased for about 35 years and I don't have the opportunity to visit her grave much as it is in another state about 3,000 miles away from my home. I traveled to this city several years ago, and went to visit her grave, and on the top of the gravestone, exactly in the middle, was a penny with the heads up. I picked up the penny and kept it, and I still have it. It is one of my most treasured possessions.

One time when I was poor as ever, I desperately wanted to attend a meditation event. In order to go to the event I would have to cancel a gig where I could make about $100. One of the devotees said if I have faith that my spiritual path was priority over the worry about money, I'd probably find the money. Well I literally did. I kept supressing my money worry, cancelled the gig, and signed up for the retreat. About two days before the event I was getting into my car and my intuition told me to look down. Right underneath my foot was a wallet with $80 in it. I brought the wallet into the building and asked what to do. Since there were no markings, cards, names or anything in the old wallet, they said, just enjoy the money! So I did.

Another time I prayed for God to send me sign so I would know for sure if the place I would be moving to next would be the right one for me. I had no idea where to move to. I was in my 20's and was ending a relationship with an alcoholic who I was living with. A stranger invited me to be her housemate. When I came to look at her incredible place she was renting there was a sign on the door to my bedroom and it said, "Home at Last!" I had told no one about my sign request. I lived there for three years and to this day I am still really good friends with the lady who had the apartment. That was back in 1980.

My friend told me that when her father was placed on hospice in the hospital that a wonderful nurse had stayed with them thru their fathers last night. She was the best nurse/person ever. When they went to the nurses station after the dad had died in the morning and asked for this nurse by name, no one knew who they were talking about. She called again when the night shift came in and again, no one heard of this wonderful woman. My friend swears to this day that she was an angel who was there to take her dad to heaven.

One day I went to a seminar. As I was leaving a lady I knew was going in and she waved at me. The only problem is that I know for a fact that she had been dead 2 years. Wasn't her twin or sister. She had a unique look. She waved first. I wish now I had followed her in and talked to her.

I know someone who I wonder about. He is light like the air and hard to know, but he is always doing little things for people. He's about 70 in appearance and does things like bring in treats for elders, take them to the store or doctor if needed. He is there if anyone needs him, and he never asks anything in return. When I see him I get the feeling of goodness, and wished I could be more like him. If he isn't an angel, he is mighty close to being one.

What a beautiful experience for you New2this! Some would call these things coincidence and others believe it's conscious intervention. I'm of the mind that there is something going on besides coincidence but it is too far beyond our abilities to comprehend. I've had my share of mysterious encounters some pleasant others not so much. The culture that I was raised in discouraged trying to contact anything "spirit" related because you can't know if it is harmful. They believe in angels but I guess the attitude is to just let them do their job and simply be grateful :)

I find this stuff fascinating but I don't know what to believe so I'm with Gillian Welch (singer)...Let the Mystery Be.

There are signs all over of things we don't fully understand. The closest I came to angels is the night after my father died. I was in bed and woke up suddenly and there were angels off to the side just out of my direct vision. When I kept trying to turn my head to see who they were they just kept gently turning my cheek the other way so I could not see their faces but they were reasuring me my Dad was now safe. There have also been people I have encountered briefly at moments where I had to wonder if they were angels sent to help out.

My brother-in-law passed last week, and his daughter told me that two separate people who came into his hospital room that afternoon told her that they had seen two angels in the room, one on either side of his bed. Shortly after that, he sat up in the bed (which he had not been able to do for a week), opened his eyes all the way, looked out the window, and his eyes went blank and he was gone.

I felt love, warmth & compassion from a woman known to be a healer. She grabbed my hand and I never felt so much warmth and she told me my mother is in Gods arms now. I always felt my mother was/is an Angel. She had this cherub smile and never seem to let pain get her down. Always had hope & love towards everyone. I miss her.

my husband had passed away and I guess I must have checked out for about 3 weeks within my home. Don't remember what I was doing or what had occurred during that time slept I guess. I remember laying on the couch and I felt a hand pushing me into a an upright position even though no one was there. (I for one is deathly afraid of ghosts or apparitions and woulf have ran so fast the wind would carry you with me ) but I wasn't frightened at all. I got up and opened the front door my front porch was cluttered with 3 weeks of newspapers and the mailbox was overflowing. I picked them all up and put them on my kitchen table and the rubber band snapped on one of the newspapers revealing a page with an article that our local high school was offering credited evening classes as if I was on auto pilot I threw on a coat and enrolled in my first class 3 years later I had graduated as an RN. Those classes let me heal. And, yes there are angels and I believe that hand pushing me into a upright position was my mom.

Hey all thanks for your answers and openness on the subject. Great stories. Patrice, you friend's story reminds me part of mine, part of an "Unsolved Mysteries" I saw long ago. A man had a wreck, (motorcycle I think), out in the country. Some people came to help him. They were like out of a very old photo, dressed in odd, long, black clothing and such. Current day paramedics came on scene and helped out. The victim remembered one of the "old time paramedics" as being key to helping him. He asked the modern day paramedics about her he wanted to thank her. Most did not know who he was talking about, did not ever see her. One did remember her, but did not know who she was. It turns out there had been a super old retreat on the grounds where the HWY now stands, facility long gone, now a county or country road surrounded by fields. But some of the retreat participants had been medical Dr.s and nurses...

Other 2nd hand account I know to be true for certain. My young Navy E4- Electrician Brother in Law. He landed a job at a pipe foundry after his time in the service. Pipes made of metal, a dangerous place to work. He made friends, formed relationships with co-workers. One who he saw as a very "level headed mentor" after 5 years, one night at "break time" said something odd. (They all worked 3rd shift.) At break, the 20 year foundry veteran asked the other guys if they had, "seen any angels" while working up near the foundry's roof? All quiet. Nope. Then he told the guys that he had. And, she'd been asking him to come to her. Break time over, back to work, ...the guy died with in the hour. He fell to his death. (Griffin Pipe, Council Bluffs, Iowa, 1984-ish). I think his name was Ray.

Thank you guys for being so forthcoming on an awkward subject I encountered this week. I knew there would be some out there in this community who could guide me. :-) Thanks.

For those of you who enjoy fiction, there is a series by Carolyn Hart about a deceased person who gets sent from heaven (The Department of Good Intentions) to help mortals in danger. The official term for these "helpers" is emissaries and they are casually referred to as ghosts. I've often wondered why the author didn't use "angel".

Oddly enough, it is a murder mystery series, since the dangers she is sent to protect people from often involve some very bad guys.

This is very frivolous compared to what you are talking about here. I don't mean to make light of the topic, but I thought this series might appeal to some of you.
