Find Care & Housing
My mother has moderate dementia and sounds quite "with it" on the phone for brief periods of time; this does not mean that she can live indendently any longer. You are quite distant from the actual caregiving; are you suspicious of the folks "on the gound?"

Your cousins would be next of kin. You are a niece/nephew. The cousins are adult children of your aunt.

Do you know what hospital she was in? You could call records at the hospital and ask if they have a POA on file.
