From not getting out of bed, communicating, no food/drink...today asked to get dressed and sat in wheelchair for 6 hours straight communicating to me short phrases (really mostly just repeating My words, but laughed and smiled a lot). Still didn't eat or drink today, but looked good, at peace. I'll take it--it's just so many times that this has occurred, last time being in February, and the next morning I was called at 5 a.m. she had another pretty major stroke. These ups and downs are SO hard...

Yes they are indeed. Hard on her as well as yourself. This is an invidious disease and very sad. I try to make each moment count. I believe that there are many lessons to be learned by the caretaker as well as many virtues to be gained. Just get learning and when you have she will pass
