Are u in the US. Most of us are but we have a few from the UK.

Because of privacy laws, its very hard to "track" someone down. I would say to start calling around to the Care homes near the hospital and then expand closer to where they lived or family lives. Do not ask if they are there, ask "can you give me the room number of John Doe" If there, they will give u the info. If not, they will just say no one here by that name. And you can say "Really, I thought this was where the family said they were, than you".

The normal way to go about this is to ask the hospital (or any other body) to give your information to your friend so that they can contact you if they wish.

Once discharged, I doubt the hospital would go out of their way.

Can you contact a family member of your friend’s? I doubt if the hospital can divulge his whereabouts to you, but you can try calling them. Good luck. I hope you find your friend.
