I use the Sun Van ride but sometimes they forget my rides and have left me in the hospital or clinics. I take taxis, but we have a limit budget so I can't do that all the time.

Some highly efficient senior centers have buses rented from a local transit agency, which take seniors shopping as well as to certain medical appointments.  They are limited sometimes, though, to facilities within the geographic range of the center, or the city, township or village.

Some counties also have special senior rides; ours compliments good senior centers with rides in certain more remote areas.

If your state has an elder agency or department, contact them. They may know of other resources.

Is Sun Van through your county's social services? If not, do contact social services for your area to see what they offer, or your local area's Agency on Aging, or a local senior center.

Some areas have Senior Volunteer groups that will take people to doctor appointments. Much like the arranged Public Transportation the ride usually has to be pre arranged, in my area the Volunteer group that does this likes a 2 day notice to arrange a volunteer that can provide transport.

Sorry no we do not provide transportation. Is this Sun Van thru ur Office of Aging? If not contact them. If so, I would put in a complaint about not being picked up. If your on Medicaid, they may provide transportation. Call ur County Disabilities Dept.

We are a forum of Caregivers sharing our experiences from all over the US and from other countries too.
