What are requirements/training of geriatric case manager?

Most are social workers. Check with your local Department of Human Services to find out educational and training requirements.

Several are also RN's. They must have at least one degree held in a field related to care management, i.e. counseling, nursing, mental health, social work, psychology or gerontology; have certifications in Care Management (CCM, CMC) and be primarily working with seniors for at least 2 yrs. I work with PGCM's and I can honestly say they are a wonderful resource for families - I could go on and on about the difference they can make in a family's life.
