I would like to buy a Pre-paid Funeral plan for my 80 year old grandmother and 74 year old grandfather. I am only interested in paying for funeral expenses not looking for life insurance, Please recommend companies only if you have used and received no hassles.

After reading various blogs online of various companies not paying. I’m not sure what plans are legitimate. Thanks

Something extra nice was that for $500 more we were able to have the reception there at the funeral home. There was so many catered finger foods that we had leftovers that lasted over a week. The funeral home (Johns Ridouts in Birmingham, AL) made a difficult time so much easier. Bless them for all they do.

We have Dignity Memorial for my parents. It costs about $6K each in this area at the present time for a cremation package. The funeral home we used was wonderful when my father died. They picked him up at the hospital, prepared his body, and took care of the cremation. We received a nice urn with his ashes. Part of the package included a memorial service in their chapel, along with beautiful flowers. They worked with us using photos to create a video of his life and provided a copy for the family members. They also provided post-death financial counseling to take us step by step through the timeline of getting things done. They filed for the transfer of SS to my mother -- a huge help -- and helped us with all the little technicalities that were so important. It was money well invested.
