With recent findings my husband's mother of 85 yrs has been in a nursing home for 3.5 yrs now. She had a partial mobility stoke and is basically needing assistance in and out of bed, and potting. So, she is wheelchair resident. She is in a smaller town, and they do not have a memory care(dementia) floor or area in the nursing home. There is a women with dementia that is often entering her room unannounced of course( with all respect for dementia residents) she is very bothered by this and sometimes startled. The nurses say they watch but not sure they do. Does anyone know if there are rules or regulations for the memory care residents to be seperate from the non dementias resident. She is often screaming with alluringness and the family wants to try to get the resident (dementia resident in another home, as it is the 2nd home the resident was in.
