Hello all. I was wondering if my nursing home can put me on haldol for no reason and not telling me about it. They didn't even tell my POA. I sleep around 18 hours a day now since getting it. I just got sent here 2 weeks ago because I'm a paraplegic due to a spinal stroke. I don't want to sleep so much. Thank you for any input.

Brandon, ask your POA to explore all this for you. He/she is the one to speak with admins and with doctors about this. Certainly if you are at some point out of control, medications can be administered to you, but your POA would need to be told this.

Leave this to your POA and good luck.

Brandon, could it be that you just don't remember why you were prescribed haldol?

I would encourage you to have your POA get your medical records and review them. Then maybe you will know what is happening with your meds and why.

You do have the right to refuse medication, just make sure it isn't vital for your recovery.

I apologize. I honestly don't ever remember asking that. I'll delete this one. I'm sorry for wasting your time
