Attorney in the morning. Don't know how it will go. He had me explain POA to him and then 5 minutes later he came out of his room and said well if I'm going to see the doctor in the morning I should take a bath. I said I JUST EXPLAINED TO YOU WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE ATTORNEY. He said oh, then turned around and went back to bed. Was he pulling my chain or is that Dementia. I don't think he is smart enough to do this for the hell of it and make me angry. Your thoughts ...Thanks

Hopefully, he will be able to confirm to the attorney that he wants to sign a durable POA and Healthcare POA, so you can act on his behalf when the time comes and he is not able. I wouldn't get too technical or stay too long. Get the basics covered. See if they can do quickly and set up morning appt. to get it signed. while he's still fresh.

Oh, I wanted to add. Just because he has poor memory, doesn't mean he doesn't know that he wants the DPOA and HCPOA.

Yes, tarajane, that is exactly what dementia is like. I think you will be more comfortable with this whole situation once you are more knowledgeable about the disease your husband has.

Good for you for getting the legal ducks in a row.

It went so smooth, the atty was aware that Ron has Dementia so he is writing everything we need. Come to find out he is the prosecuting atty for my county! May need him someday. I was so glad. POA Healthcare Surrogate, Living Will, and Durable POA are all there. Everything I need. Thank you all
