I know a veteran who is sleeping on the floor on a mattress. He can not afford a bed. He gets SSD and a vet pension for 10 or 15% service connected disabillity. Is there any known program to get him a decent bed to sleep on? HE just had a heart attack and has documented back injuries. Thank you for your help! He is also diabetic. and has to have another stent put in on the other side of his heart on 8/13/2012.
There are also programs for recycled medical equipment. In my area it's call Project Hero. Type "medical supplies" "recycling" and his city or Zip code into your search engine. Most areas have a program where people donate new or gently used medical equipment. You may be able to find him a bed there for very little money, especially if you explain the need. Good luck,
