I had a POA that I was using for 2-1/2 years for my brother. I received in the mail in April 2017 a new POA, still with me as #1 POA, but with son as #2. It was dated Oct 2016. At this point I want to give up the POA because of ongoing disagreements with son and not knowing if the banks will accept this new document not recorded from another state. I want to be professional, but not caught in this catch-22.

Just send a registered letter declining the appointment and also resign from the first POA. If the son it there he can take over responsibilities.
