I BELIEVE you are indicating that the current spouse of your parent (this being a second marriage, so that spouse not being your parent) has prevented you from seeing your own parent. I believe you are also indicating that the spouse does not have POA. questions: Is the above correct? Does your parent have dementia or any other condition that precludes him or her from making his own decisions? WHY is the spouse of your parent forbidding your seeing the parent? Has your relationship with your parent been good, ongoing? Do know that the current spouse is the lion (or lioness) at the gate. That is to say you are unlikely to get past him or her without their allowing you into the shared home of the couple. It may be wise to try FIRST to throw yourself upon the mercy of the spouse, beg to see your parent, agree to see that parent accompanied BY the spouse to insure you are not causing disruption, agree NOT to cause disruption. If this doesn't work you might call APS and say that your parent's current spouse is preventing your seeing the parent and you would appreciate a wellness check. Is your spouse being prevented to see his father by the father's PoA?
Is your father's spouse his PoA and is preventing you from seeing him?
Is your father's spouse NOT his PoA and yet is preventing you from seeing him?
Is your father's spouse preventing you from seeing him and you do not have PoA for him?
