Do your mother and stepfather own the house together? You have POA for your mother and your stepbrother has conservatorship for his father. Is that the situation?

Your stepbrother thinks it may be in his father's best interest to sell the house, but you don't think that would be in your mother's best interest. I am close? I'm guess here, and it will help you get better answers if you can explain the situation in more detail.

Conservators havr control over finances. Is your POA medical and/or financial? It doesn't make sense to have both conservator and a POA for finances. Conservators are appointed in court by a judge. If your step-sibling decides to sell
the house he has do the legal steps to give any legal tennent notice.

Yes you are exactly right! Some of my step-siblings think it may be in their father's best interest to sell the house. Also one of the siblings wants to move in but owes thousands of dollars to my step dad??

Does your mother live in that house? If so, where would she go? If she is already in a care center, how is that being paid for?

I think the potential sale of a house owned by two people is a very serious subject and could be complicated under the circumstances. I think a lawyer should be involved.

Do you and your stepbrother get along? Are you both just concerned about what is best for your parents? If you can work together and see a lawyer together, that might be the best route.

If there is animosity there, then use some of Mother's money to consult a lawyer on her behalf.
