Can a POA use his services while I am still sane and of sound mind and without my permission?

By signing a POA, you are authorizing this person to act on your behalf AND in accordance with your wishes. You can decide WHEN their authority becomes effective: immediately or when you become disabled or both. Tell the attorney what kind of POA you want.
