thats an unanswerable question. someone who drives their car till it drops and dont maintain it may feel like better transportation is a necessity. im not implying that this is your situation at all. im suggesting that anything could be considered a necessity by some people. im actually thinking about my sister here. shes the kind who would buy magic beans and celebrate the bargain she got on them. youre elder may be around for a long time and require any kind of expensive assistance. id say just be extremely frugal..
