My 79 yo neighbor is wearing what looks like incontinence pads into the pool. She is very tall and very thin, and the bottom of a 2-pc suit looks as big as a large grapefruit, and she ocassionally reaches behind to pull it up. A friend has also noticed and we wonder how to speak to her about it. There are no appropriate pads in our town drugstores, I did find an incontinence pad for swimming online. I hate to think how people will judge her, my neighbor fears its unsanitariness and won't swim when she's been in. How to work this? Her son lives here and they have a relationship that borders on verbal abuse on his part so I can't go there.
Candice told me that they have to shock the pool after the seniors swim every day. The pool water is unsanitary after they have been in the pool. She told me they thought it would be worse after the babe and tot swims, but nope seniors are more likely to pee in the pool.
As long as the pool water quality is being properly monitored and treated it should not be an issue.
As for your neighbour, I can imagine the pad just soaks up the pool water. It cannot be comfortable at all.
