I've had my durable POA signed since 2022, and my children know that their power doesn't kick in until I can no longer make sound judgements for myself or I would kick their a$$es.
So just make sure that you have ALL your ducks in a row and that you're keeping any and all receipts in case your dad needs Medicaid in the future, or if there are any questions from family members. And if he's already on Medicaid, the receipts are even more important.
So make sure you verify exactly what kind of POA it is and make sure that whatever you do you're keeping all and any receipts so you can't get in trouble down the road.
