Share a few details and we will match you to trusted home care in your area:
Confusion is considered a serious side effect of Plavix and you need to call your doctor immediately, but do not stop taking the medication w/o permission from the doctor.
From Google: Serious Side Effects: Severe bleeding: This can include blood in urine, black or tarry stools, vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds, and coughing up blood. According to Healthgrades, stomach or intestinal bleeding is also a possible, though rare, serious side effect of Plavix.
Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP): This rare but serious condition involves the formation of blood clots throughout the body and can be life-threatening.
Symptoms of TTP can include: Fever, weakness, pale skin, purpura (purple spots on the skin), jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), shortness of breath, headache, CONFUSION, vision changes, dizziness, and fast or irregular heartbeat.
Severe allergic reaction: Symptoms can include hives, rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and difficulty breathing. Liver problems: Rarely, Plavix can cause liver problems. According to SingleCare, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) can be a sign of liver problems. Important Note: Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects or any symptoms that are concerning or do not go away. Do not stop taking Plavix without talking to your doctor first. Be sure to inform your doctor about any other medications or supplements you are taking, as they could interact with Plavix and increase the risk of bleeding.
If you have any questions or concerns about Plavix or its side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Time to discuss this with your MD. Never take medical advice from a bunch of strangers. Also know that the internet is your friend, and you can research this by typing in "plavix and sleep disturbances". THEN call the MD and discuss alternatives or remedies. Good luck.
Call and tell your doctor right now. We cannot give you any medical advice since we're not doctors and even if we were we have no idea why you're taking that medication and what others you may be taking, and any other info critical to "diagnosing" you.
