My mother just turned 90. I'm 68 and can no longer work because I'm taking care of her. I've done this for several years. This might come to an end this year because she is slowly deteriorating and it's hard for me handle her by myself. In any case, we are living off her SS and my SS and a dribble of money I make blogging and doing digital art. Paying for my mothers supplement--which is a good one because she needs it at her age--comes out of a very, very shallow pocket every month. Can the cost of her monthly supplement be claimed toward medical expenses?

Find Care & Housing
She could claim the expense, but not you. See a tax preparer.
