I HAVE BEEN PAYING NIECES TO CARE FOR MOM AND I HAVE ALSO CARED FOR MOM TO AVOID SENDING HER TO A NURSING HOME WHERE SHE WOULD BE VERY UNHAPPY.

SHE HAS VERY LITTLE MONEY - SHE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE TO FILE AN INCOME TAX RETURN DUE TO HER FINANCIAL STATUS

EVENTUALLY WHEN IT GET TOO BAD SHE WILL HAVE TO GO INTO NURSING CARE. AT THIS POINT SHE IS WEARING DIAPERS BUT WE ALL MANAGE TO PITCH IN AND HELP HER

I AM THE POWER OF ATTORNEY BUT AM AFRAID THAT WHEN SHE GOES INTO NURSING CARE I MAY HAVE TO PAY BACK THE MONEY I HAVE GIVEN FOR HER CARE. THIS WOULD BE HORRIBLE TO ME ESPICALLY WHEN MY SOLE REASON FOR DOING SO WITH MY NIECES IS FOR MOM HAPPINESS.

MY MOTHER IS A SWEET, HAPPY OTHERWISE VERY ACTIVE INDIVIDUAL WHO GOES SWIMMING EACH DAY AND CURRENTLY HAS A GOOD QUALITY LIFE SURROUNDED BY HER FRIENDS WHO DO NOT HAVE THE DISEASE. CAN YOU HELP DIRECT ME AS TO WHAT I SHOULD DO?

That's great your Mom has a good attitude and has family and friends around. Mine has just me, and a negative attitude. I think a contract will be a good idea. Good luck.
