My patient is back to the nursing home after 3 days at the hospital with a new diagnosis. Can he pick his Medicare A up where he left off?

My patient admitted to the nursing home on 05-23-17 under medicare A with a fractured hip dx. He returned after 3 days observation at the hospital with a new dx of stroke. Can he pick his Med A days up where he left off even though he has a new dx?
