Mom says she isn't hungry, drinks about 2 sips of coffee a day, sits for maybe 20- 30 minutes a day. Sleeps the rest of the day. Cries in pain everyday, I don't see her go to the bathroom. Doctor says take her to the ER but we have already been 4 times in 1 month. She doesn't act like she used to. Like she's lost sometimes. Always hurting. Today she threw up after tasting a piece of chicken. What do I do?? Help

I'm so sorry but these behaviors sound like your mothers dying I would call hospice. Barely eating and sleeping all day are classic signs that the body is giving up. I am so sorry.

I would suggest you to seek advice from doctors at OrthoTexas. They are specialized in treating RA.

Like others have said, take her to the ER. You didn't say if she is on pain meds now? That would have been helpful. Pain management can be very difficult at times. Sometimes a doctor will sort of 'give up' and you may need to consider if this is the case. If so, try to find someone that specializes in RA pain management.

Definitely call an ambulance and tell the paramedics and the ER doctors what you have told us. She needs major pain control. How on earth is she expected to live like this? Were the 4 previous visits for this? Did she always go to the same ER? She has to be losing weight and getting weaker.

You take her to the ER. Call an ambulance. What else do you think you can do? At the very least, she needs pain control.
