Sarah, if I understand correctly, you're leaving India, but your mother is staying? Is this correct? If so, you're asking about services in India that could be available to help your mother it the need arises?

I don't think anyone here could really help you with that unless that person has lived in the specific area of India where your mother resides.

Or did you mean that you're leaving FOR India and your mother will remain here in the US?

If the latter, I would get a medical alert pendant, lock box installed on the exterior of the house, and contact the local EMS to explain the situation to them.

Sarah, if I am reading correctly you are your husband are leaving India to go to another country for 6 months and leaving your mother behind. Since you are concerned about her, could you bring her along with you or would it be difficult for her to travel and get a VISA?

It's my understanding from a good friend of mine who is from India, her in-laws there were able to hire help from different agencies at a reasonable cost. They had a cook, a housekeeper, and a boy who was the Dad-in-law's companion to watch over him as he had dementia. That might be something to consider. Only draw back if finding one person who is a good match who would help for 6 months.
