My husband is unemployed and is now the care taker for my 78 year old retarded/seizure Uncle who lives with us and requires 24/7 care. The state of FLorida has a program with Medicaid but it only pays $106 / month. My Uncle is on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay out of pocket. I know there must be a program/way to get paid for 8 hours of service even though it's 24/7. There is SOO much info on the web, I was hoping as care takers, someone here could direct us to a program. Many thanks

Find Care & Housing
My retarded/epileptic sister is 59 and lives in a group home run by a private non-profit organization. Your county social services can help him find placement. Do it before you are any older, it doesn't get easier.
