Try contacting Medicare or Medicaid to see if they can help with the payment. When it comes to Medicaid, each State has their own rules regarding what they allow or don't allow.

You might check with your electric provider to see if there are any programs available for medical usage discounts. I have heard that some do that. They will give you a lower price per kilowatt hour if you have a medical need and a doctor's signature.

Also check with your income tax preparer to see if the additional electricity can be deducted as a medical expense.

Also be sure that with the upcoming warmer weather, that your doors and windows are sealed properly, that your air conditioner has been cleaned and clean filters, that the refrigerator coils have been vacuumed and anything else you can think of that will reduce the usage. You want to have as many warmth emitting appliances and lights off during the heat of the day as possible so that the AC doesn't have to work too hard.
