I have POA of her health. I believe conservatorship takes too long. Mom has Alzheimer's and is in hospice. Meanwhile, that amount is being deducted automatically from her account. She has no assets. Help I'm in California/ Thank you

At this point, why would you cancel?

I would speak with the insurance company and find out how this is dealt with. As Joann said, it probably goes back into her estate and gets distributed according to state law when there is no will.

If she has no assets in the account it will cancel quickly enough on its own.
If not, someone must get conservatorship to do it if Mom has Alzheimer's.

Are you saying she has nothing in the bank? If so, they can try to deduct but the bank should not ok the transaction. Your aren't on Moms bank acct? If you were you could request the bank to cancel that auto withdrawal.

I just read that since brother died before Mom and she was not able to change beneficiaries then the insurance money reverts back to Moms estate and distributed that way.
