Ohio Medicaid question. I am 60 and just got laid off, I am not receiving unemployment benefits as I am seeking SSD. I have no income at this time. I do have a small inheritance in the bank of $8000.00. I also have some monies in an IRA from working over the years. I am using the inheritance to live. Will this disqualify me from receiving Ohio Medicaid?

Find Care & Housing
You are old enough to start withdrawing from the IRA. Look into that.

TO: Pamstegma:
Wonder why no one asked me what I had in the bank? It is an inheritance. I have no income now because you cannot collect unemployment is you have applied for SSD. So I am soley on my own! Thank you.

Yes, you have too much money to get Medicaid yet. Get on the unemployment ASAP. SSD is very hard to get, especially since you were actually working.
