if the person doesn't have Medicare part A, low income and can't live by herself..What are the options for a long term care? Nursing Homes won't accept without part A.

Nearly everyone has Medicare Part A unless it was never applied for. I agree with igloo on this. If she was on another health program, then you should work with a Medicare expert or an elder law attorney to get that changed to whatever is needed. There's no premium for Medicare Part A. What was this person using for health insurance?

Why don't they have Medicare? Is it that have never applied? or are were they on another health program....like RailRoad retirement? Or it this a no work history so no FICA payments for SS & Medicare? Citizenship issues?
