I've noticed, so many times, when I would be out with my Mom, I would inevitably be approached by someone who wanted to share that they understood our situation. Just today I had errands to run and my mom and 2 dogs were in the car waiting while I ran something into the post office. As I approached the car I saw that my mom had opened her door and a man was standing in front of her. He said that one of the dogs had gotten out and was running toward the street. He was afraid she would be run over, so he scooped her up and brought her back to the car. He asked if she had Alz, I said yes, he said he understood as he helped his father who had Alz. I thanked him profusely for essentially saving my dog and he offered God's blessing. I realized how many times I've connected with complete strangers b/c of Alz, and that there is a special bond between caregivers. Almost like, no words are necessary, but love comes as a great big hug from the heart. What an amazing effect.
