My mom sometimes has diarrhea so bad that she doesn't always see what she left on the toilet to clean up. Now, it ended up on the wall. How did that happen? She's also urinated a lot on herself, which she has diapers for. What could be causing her to not know she's leaving urine and feces on the toilet, floor, and wall in the bathroom? She does seem to be sicker than usual. Could that be it? She has so many problems, I lose track and don't always know what to do.

Her COPD gets to her a lot, especially this season. She's already been on anti-biotics and Prednisone so much and that's pretty much all they'll do for her. She'll argue about going.

Dear Melanie,

I know its tough cleaning up when the fluids are everywhere. Even if your mom is stubborn, I would definitely get her to the doctor another check. There has to be a reason. I know its not easy finding the answers though.

Have you considered finding another adult Depends type product that will work better for your mom? Or having a bedside commode might work better? I wonder if her meds might be affecting her judgment?

I feel for you and I hope the doctor or nurse can help you find some solutions that will help you.
