To be exact, the DWP want bank statements from a particular date but we have no access to provide this as no bank access, is there absolutely nothing we can do? She’s 76 now so the DWP owe her nearly 20k. It’s so frustrating we can’t seem to help her out and to put the final nail in the coffin her continued care has stopped. They're saying as so frail she’s not so much of a challange now, and she has to pay out of her savings, the treatment of decent people with dementia is appalling we were too late to get a POA as she’d been diagnosed with the illness.

Does Mom have an on-line account? I can print off former Statements. I can also put in the dates I am interested in and print off. Sorry, I don't understand an annual statement. Here in the US we get them monthly so we can reconcile our checking accounts. Savings every three months. I really don't understand why the bank can't print off tne timeline u need.

Hi we are in the Uk.. We didn't know she was being paid sort until we were told she was no longer eligable for continous health care (which means mum has to start paying for her own care out of her savings) the local authority asked for mums fanincial details to make an assesment on how much she should pay and wanted bank details with her savings ect, which we provided, however they told us mum should be getting pension credits, which she has not been receiving, they asked us for the statements to prove that what we said was true , with no POA then we sent the statements what we had and they told us to contact the department of works and pensions, after we'd spoken to them they advised us mum has'nt received this the entire time, we need to provide a statement dated 22/01/18 which is the date we enquired but as no POA we finding this impossible to do as mum only gets anual statements and the bank won't help us at all. The DWP will not process this until we can produce the statement they require I feel so angry and fustrated in the face 1 govenment agency and a bank can't communicate between themselves

I have to ask how long you’ve known Mom was being shorted money. Is this something you’ve just discovered? If there are poorly kept records or no financial records and no one has been helping mom out with her funds and finances, your only recourse may be an Elder Law Attorney or even a Financial Advisor. They may be able to do some research and find the information for you.

Who is the DWP? Why no bank access? Are you trying to prove to them they have shorted Mom? Was the pension direct deposited? If not, didn't she keep the check stubs? If paid by check there would be no bank record. Cashing a check does not show up on a statement. What is continued care? Need more info to help.

Are you in the US? UK? Other? In the US, first of all, you might be surprised who is still eligible to sign a POA. If no one has declared her incompetent legally, she can probably still sign a POA form. If she has been declared incompetent, you can ask for guardianship. Even a court appointed guardian would be able to get the bank records you need.
