Need temporary elderly respite outside the home. Looking for a temporary place that cares for elderly overnight, outside the home. Family going on vacation for 5 days and do not want to have anyone come to the house, prefers to be able to place elderly 92 year old mom in a place for the time family is gone. Mom can walk get around not bedridden, but needs someone to provide meals and monitor her so she is not alone and safe during the family's respite. Family is looking for this to assist at end of July and again at end of August, 5 days both times.

A lot of Assisted Living places will do this, but with prior notice and medical clearance. It might be a good idea to get her there from the start of the first trip to the end of the second trip. She might even decide to stay there.

Check out your local Memory Care and assisited living homes, many offer respite care. You will have some things to do before hand, so the sooner the better. We had to have dad get a TB test or Xray, and info from his Dr. Plus visit and have an assesment done on Dad so they were comfortable that we got the correct level of care.
