Do some research on the internet and/or contact the local senior center in Dallas and find out what your options are. Do your homework first having all your financial info ready such as everyone's income, pension, social security, investments, resulting money fro sale of Austin home, etc.

There are many apts or senior living options that are available and senior center in the locale you are looking can help you narrow it down. Then write or call these places to send you information to review. Narrow to 3-4 places and then take a few days to go to Dallas and visit them and see what is available to meet your timeline. Keep in mind that some senior living places or rent subsidized units could have a waiting list so get your search started ASAP.

My mom lived at Plaza at Chase Oaks in Plano. HUD subsidized and rent was less than $800 a month. Very nice place. Also check out Evergreen. My in-laws love there. Also nice and same thing HUD. good luck

Hey!! My uncle is residing in retirement home in Ottawa. They provide a wide range of services to their residents. They help older persons who have minor problems with mobility and activities of daily living.
