I am her son and looking for advice. She is recently widowed, my step father passed 2 months ago. My mother is 54 and has had 3 strokes, open heart surgery and is epileptic, among many other issues. She is homeless and suicidal. She can barely walk, she cannot live alone but she has no income, no disability. On Sunday night the 21st of January I had a friend take her to the ER . She is now on a chapter 51, and was transferred to Mayo clinic in eau Claire Wisconsin. I'm not sure what to do.

Inform the social worker that she has no home. Absolutely tell them that you will not take her in. Do not fill out any forms . Do this early so that they can fill out the legal paperwork

Ask the hospital for a social worker. That person will be a good resource to get help for your mother.
She is lucky to have a caring son like you.
