My mother is having some strange experiences. As she wakens from sleep, she faintly sees a woman, blonde hair and blue eyes, who is staring at her and trying to say something. She can't make out what she's trying to say and the woman fades away. At first she was frightened by it but she doesn't seem frightened now, just curious. My mom is 86 and fairly physically functional but certainly beginning to decline in memory. She just lost my dad a few months ago but holding up fairly well. Wondering if this could be some kind of early dementia experience? A spiritual phenomena? Is it normal?

Does the person seem familiar? Like a younger version of her mother or Aunt? Maybe even her grandmother? Maybe you can find some old pictures and show them to Mom.

When I was about 6 I woke up in the Middle of the night. My parents had just bought my sister and I twin beds. I woke up to see a woman coming into my room from the outside wall of the house. At the time I thought she was a Japanese woman because of the hair on top of her hair and high neck collar. I wasn't afraid and she motioned me to be quiet. She then covered my sister and bent to kiss her. I always wondered why she did this to my sister and not me. A few years later I was looking thru old pictures and found one of my Grandmother taken in 1915. It was the woman that came to me that night. Her hair was on top of her head and her blouse had a high neck collar. She died at the age of 42. My sister died at the age of 43. Heaven's time is not ours. I think she came because my sister would be joining her 40 yrs later.

Oh JoAnn,

I just got chills. That’s so sweet. I believe they can visit. I have never experienced it personally but there are many stories like yours. Do people believe you when you tell them or are they skeptical?

Did you tell your mom? Did she believe you? How did you feel when you saw the photo?
