Find Care & Housing
My husband is the very same . His Primary has put him on glucerna, it has all the vitamins they need , the Dr told me people live on just that . I also buy him all flavored yogurt, he loves both of them. I cook and try all the meals he use to love but with his Advanced Dementia he can’t remember the meals and refuses to eat. They have glucerna for diabetics also which is what I buy it’s very good. I hope you try it. Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there because your sure not alone. God Bless. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷💐🌺

I'm having the same issues with my mom, who is 90. Part of my mom's problem is the Parkinsons has changed how she eats, so she can't chew and swallow food as well. I find myself doing a lot of trial and error. She'll eat finger food, fish sticks, hamburgers. She'll also eat sweets - candy, cookies, brownies. I guess keep trying different things to see if you find something she likes.

You need to tell us why she doesn't she like to eat, or try to discover the reason, so that we can address the specific problem.

Do her teeth hurt or her dentures no longer fit?
Does the food taste wrong due to her medications or some other cause?
Is she having trouble swallowing?
Is her tummy upset or is she having problems with constipation or diarrhea?
Or is she just no longer hungry?
Could she be close to the end of life?
