She is on SSI and currently lives in an assisted living facility that doesn't accept Medicaid or Medi Cal as it is called in CA. We are going to have to move her to a nursing home as she cannot care for herself and needs dialysis. She has end stage renal failure and requires dialysis 3 x's per week, Parkinson's, cerebral dementia that is progressing. Our family cannot afford to pay her care any longer and she is almost out of her retirement savings to pay for her care, and we need help to know what to do for her.

With her health problems she should have no problem getting into LTC. I am surprised that the AL has allowed her to stay this long. You need to talk to MedCal and find out what she needs to do.

I live in NJ and Mom was in an AL running out of money. I started the Medicaid application in April. She had 20k left that would pay for LTC for 2 months. I placed her on May 1st, she paid May and June. June I confirmed Medicaid had everything they needed and Medicaid started July 1st.
