I Live in California. She was approved for Medicaid 3 months ago but so far no contact has been made by her case worker. She needs round the clock care. Myself and siblings all work full time and do not live close by to give her the care she really needs. I have read on the Medicaid sight that she can get in home care as long as she remains in her own home. They state that she can receive 200 hours a month for in home care and more hours if it’s proven she needs round the clock care. I would love to hear from anyone out there who has tapped into Medicaid for their elder parents and received in home care.

In CA there is IHSS through the county. And WPCS through the state. She will be evaluated to see how many hours that she qualifies for. Then she’ll get a list of caregivers from their registry and she can call them to interview. Her assigned social worker can help her so she doesn’t have a share of cost

You need to call your local Medicaid office and find out exactly what benefits she has. They should be able to provide you with a list of care providers in your area who accept Medicaid payments.
