Was this policy disclosed on the Medicaid application?

If not, you need to notify them that you have a funeral life insurance policy and it got missed on the application and you need help.

If they catch this and you haven't asked them for help they will believe that you were trying to hide it and nothing you say will change that. Being up front is the best way to deal with this.

Yes I include it every year
To Medicaid. I just didnt know if they will come after the policies. My mom is the owner. I pay premiums on them. Im not sure how to handle this . They are for funeral expenses I sure Dont want Medicaid To take them after she passes if they do this i just need to cancel policies because the whole idea is to help pay off funeral.

You paid the premiums so I don't think it would have to be cashed in. If it stipulates funeral don't think it would have to be cashed in. Call her caseworker and run it by them.

It’s not a matter of who is paying the premiums. It’s a matter of who owns the policies and whether or not they are an exempt asset. Mom could have taken out the policies & they are in her name. Doesn’t matter if someone else is paying the premiums.

Hopeless, if it is for a funeral that is allowed through Medicaid, they would have already made you cash it in if they intended on taking the money.

That it has been disclosed and they haven't said cash it in, that is what they are treating it as, a funeral policy.
