He decided she should stay at the Rehabilitation center last year that she went to after her cancer surgery because she already had a lot of dementia etc problems.
It was difficult for us because we always wanted to keep our parents at home but we didn't have 24/7 supervision. I've been knowing she should be there for many reasons but now she finally asked me that and I honestly can't remember what he should tell her and I feel guilty again and we could just bring her home and I could try again, but it was so difficult back then last year and now her dementia has really advanced.
I do know the facility is extremely good though.

I would leave her where she is. If it didn't work before, it won't work now. Her Dementia will worsen to the point she will need more care than u can or want to give. So its little white fib time.

I feel for you, and for her too, it must be, it is, so difficult.
Take it one day at a time, and perhaps do it with her, like an experiment you are doing together, to see how it goes... you are always in time to change your mind, if you see that she's really unhappy perhaps you can arrange some professional care at home...forever is a scary word for anyone, life changes, we can change it.

With all my support.

Please tell her "it's up to the doctor, mom; your DOCTOR says you need to be here right now; it's not up to your son".
