Our eating habits have changed, in that we both eat less at meal time, we are Seniors, he will be 90 this year, and was diagnosed in 2013 with dementia, but I saw things years before pointing to somethings, he amazes me the way he can keep doing some things, I am the caregiver, but he is still self sufficient in many things. It would seem that this is the slow progression, so much I just don't understand, guess that's why you are all here...to help in some way, thanks in advance.

no1cares, I agree with funkygrandma59, as we get older we do tend to sleep more. Your hubby has had a very long life, he is tired.

My parents were both in their 90's, and I remember they use to brag that they only needed 6 hours sleep and were up with the chickens. They never added onto those 6 hours, the hour or two nap they took after breakfast..... the hour or two nap after lunch.... and the the naps before and after dinner.... and the nap just before bedtime. No wonder they were wide awake to see Johnny Carson !!

If the fact that he's sleeping more really bothers you, perhaps you need to address it with his Dr., but honestly my first thought was, well he's almost 90 years old. Everyone that I've known that were older(mid 80's and up) tended to sleep a lot more during the day. I believe that's somewhat normal, but again if it is concerning to you, don't hesitate to contact his Dr. Best wishes.
