So sorry to read about anyone struggling with brain cancer. I just lost a good friend to this disease.

Obviously you are still working and you must get paid help in to be there when you are working or file for Medicaid. I would talk to your husband's medical team to see if they can put you in touch with a social worker. You are not the first person in this situation.

I hope you have the support of friends and family who could possibly help out.

Family leave does not pay the bills. You can take it in increments though. That way your job is safe. Can't let you go if on family leave.

See if you qualify for Medicaid in home care. Some States will pay family members or you can have an aide come in while you work.

If your place of employment doesn't have family leave, or you don't have family or friends that can come stay with your husband while you work, you may have to go to your local Social Services Dept. to see what you may be eligible for. Or perhaps you can still work part-time.
Also a lot of your local charities will help pay for utility bills and even rent for those folks in need, along with giving free food and clothing.
It's a tough situation you are in, and I certainly appreciate the fact that you want to be with your husband. I hope and pray that you can get things figured out soon.

I'm so sorry for this stressful situation. Do you have a question for us? Are you having trouble getting an appropriate amount of care for him at home? Is he on hospice? How old is he?
