The behavior you describe is not uncommon after a heart procedure, surgery, or event. And it is treatable. A month may be too soon to expect to be back to normal, but if this continues Husband should definitely discuss it with his doctor.

Look up post surgery depression on Google. This happens with other kinds of surgery and with heart events that don't involve surgery.

Recovering from surgery is a huge episode, especially something as serious as heart surgery. It could be that your husband is in pain...frustrated by needing to rest, or if he has needed to change his diet...or even be feeling vulnerable and not know how to deal with those emotions.

That being said, anger and depression is a serious symptom combo and I'd advise this be brought up to his primary doctor. Your husband might be more comfortable discussing mental symptoms with a doctor than with you.

I know the impatience is difficult to deal with, my dad has a much shorter temper than he used to and being snipped at is never fun. Try and be patient with your husband as he recovers ... but make sure you stand up for yourself too; don't just take rude behaviour on the chin!
