Find Care & Housing
Ingridk, here's an idea to get a better understanding when it comes to taking care of a much older person. To the the top of the page to the blue/green bar and on the far right you will see CARE TOPICS. Click on that and scroll through the list of things one can read on so many different topics when it comes to caregiving.

One needs to realize that at 96 he doesn't have the same energy he had at 76, and at 76 he didn't have the same energy he had at 56, etc. It is very normal to slow down as we age. Heavens, my sig other and I are always falling asleep in front of the TV.... and here I always wondered why my parent did that at our age :P

You say in your other post that your grandfather is 96. That’s quite an impressive age. Perhaps he feels he has the right to sleep as much as he wants and starting a new hobby just doesn’t appeal to him. Would he like to listen to music from his era?
